What we collect, and where it comes from

Only what you send us yourself:

When you press Send, the message form emails your message to O.S.A.S. through Resend, an email service. Cloudflare Turnstile first checks that the form is being used by a person and not a spam program. If you choose WhatsApp instead, the form opens WhatsApp with your message filled in and you send it from there. This website uses no advertising or tracking tools. Its only cookie is in the online courses, to keep you signed in. Turnstile collects only what it needs to tell people from spam programs, and loads only once you start filling in the form (Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy terms). Our web host processes your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them from attack.

Why we use it

To reply to your request, prepare a quote, and do the work you ask us to do. We don’t sell your details or send you marketing.

In the online courses, your name and ID or passport number go on your certificate, so it can be matched to you. If your company gave you the course, its manager sees your progress, results and certificates in your company’s training record. Anyone with your certificate code can check it on this website: the check shows your name, the course and the date, never your ID number.

Do you have to give it?

No, it’s voluntary. We need at least your name and a phone number to reply to a quote request. Without them we can’t get back to you.

Who else sees it

We share nothing else unless the law requires it.

Sending information outside South Africa

Cloudflare, Resend and WhatsApp process data on servers outside South Africa, including in Europe and the United States. They are bound by data-protection terms that give protection substantially similar to POPIA, as section 72 requires.

How long we keep it

This website keeps no copy of your message: it goes to the O.S.A.S. inbox. To stop spam, it keeps a one-way code made from your internet connection for one day; the code can’t be turned back into your address. Messages, emails and documents about a quote or a job are kept for as long as we need them for that work, and for as long as tax and company law require us to keep business records.

How we protect it

The website only works over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only O.S.A.S. reads your messages.

Your rights

You may ask us, free of charge, whether we hold your personal information and what it is. You may also ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email consulting@osasec.co.za and we will reply within 30 days.
